About This Sermon
This message explains how Jesus Christ is preparing His Church—the Bride of Christ—for His glorious return. It reminds believers thatour readiness is founded on the finished work of Jesus Christ, strengthened through God’s Word, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Introduction
Jesus Christ is coming again for His Church. The Bible describes the Church as the Bride of Christ, loved by the Savior
and prepared for an eternal relationship with Him. Our readiness is not based on human effort but on the finished work of Jesus Christ. As we receive His grace by faith, the Holy Spirit transforms our lives and prepares us for His glorious return.
As believers, we are called to live in expectation, holiness, and faith, allowing God’s Word and His Spirit to shape us each day.
1. Jesus Purchased His Church with His Own Blood
Acts 20:28 (KJV)
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock,
over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers,
to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Jesus purchased His Church with His precious blood. Our identity and value are not determined by the world but by the price
He paid for us. We belong to Him because He redeemed us through His sacrifice on the cross.
2. Christ Is Preparing a Glorious Church
Ephesians 5:25–27 (KJV)
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot,
or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Jesus loves His Church and is sanctifying and cleansing His people through His Word.
His desire is to present His Bride holy, without spot or wrinkle, reflecting His righteousness and glory.
3. God Is Transforming the Whole Person
1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV)
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body
be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Philippians 3:20–21 (KJV)
20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body,
according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
God’s work of salvation includes our spirit, soul, and body.

Spirit: When we place our faith in Jesus Christ, our spirit is born again and made alive in Him. We become a new creation and are united with Christ.

Soul: Our mind, will, and emotions are continually transformed as we renew our minds through the Word of God. This is the ongoing process of spiritual growth and maturity.

Body: Our bodies will be redeemed and glorified when Jesus Christ returns.
God is preparing the whole person for the glorious return of Jesus Christ.
4. Guard Your Heart Against Deception
2 Corinthians 11:2–3 (KJV)
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband,
that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty,
so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Just as Satan deceived Eve, the enemy seeks to draw believers away from Christ. The enemy’s strategy has not changed. He attacks God’s truth and attempts to distract believers from their devotion to Jesus Christ.
As the Bride of Christ, we are called to remain faithful to God’s Word, keeping our hearts and minds fixed on Jesus.
When we stand on the truth of Scripture, we are protected from deception and grow in spiritual discernment.
5. Stand on the Word of God
Genesis 3:1 (KJV)
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.
And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
From the beginning, Satan questioned God’s Word by asking, “Yea, hath God said?”
His goal was to create doubt and lead humanity into disobedience.
Jesus showed us the way to overcome every temptation.
Matthew 4:1–11 (Selected KJV)
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written,
Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Every time Satan tempted Jesus, He answered with the Word of God.
God’s Word remains our foundation, our authority, and our victory over every attack of the enemy.
As believers, we overcome temptation by believing, speaking, and obeying the Scriptures.
6. Live a Life of Repentance
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Biblical repentance is a change of mind that turns us toward God. It is not merely feeling sorry for sin but allowing God’s Word to continually renew our thinking.
As we renew our minds through Scripture, the Holy Spirit transforms our soul—our mind, will, and emotions—so that we increasingly reflect the character of Jesus Christ.
Our spirit was born again the moment we placed our faith in Jesus Christ and has been made alive in Him.
The ongoing work of transformation takes place in the soul as our minds are renewed by the Word of God. Day by day, we learn to think according to God’s truth rather than the patterns of this world.
As we yield to the Holy Spirit and meditate on God’s Word, we grow in spiritual maturity and become more like Christ in our daily lives, while we look forward to the day when our bodies will be glorified at the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7. Walk in the Spirit
Galatians 5:16–25 (KJV)
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before… that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Walking in the Spirit is the daily lifestyle of every believer. As we yield to the Holy Spirit, His fruit is produced in our lives, and we reflect the character of Jesus Christ to the world. God has not called us to live by the power of the flesh but by the power of the Holy Spirit.
8. Be Like the Wise Virgins
Matthew 25:1–13 (KJV)
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
The wise virgins were prepared when the Bridegroom arrived. They had oil in their lamps and were ready to meet Him.
As the Bride of Christ, we are called to remain filled with the Holy Spirit, faithful to God’s Word, and watchful as we await the glorious return of Jesus Christ.
9. The Bride Has Made Herself Ready
Revelation 19:7–8 (KJV)
7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give honour to him:
for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen,
clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
The Bride of Christ is clothed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Our righteousness is not earned by our own works
but is the gift of God through faith in His Son.
Because Christ has redeemed, sanctified, and clothed us with His righteousness, we now respond with faith,
obedience, worship, and holy living as we eagerly await His glorious appearing.
Conclusion
The Lord Jesus Christ loves His Church.
He purchased us with His blood.
He has made us righteous.
He has given us a new spirit.
He is renewing our souls through His Word.
He has given us His Holy Spirit.
He will glorify our bodies when He returns.
He is preparing His Bride for His glorious return.
May we remain faithful, filled with the Holy Spirit, grounded in God’s Word, and ready for the day we meet our Bridegroom.

He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us through His precious blood. Thank You for making us new creations in Christ and preparing us as Your Bride.
Help us to walk in the Spirit, renew our minds through Your Word, and faithfully follow You each day as we await the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Keep us steadfast in faith, rooted in Your Word, and faithful in our calling until the day we see Jesus face to face.
May our lives bring glory to Your name, and may Your Church be ready for the coming of the Bridegroom.
We give You all the praise, honor, and glory.
